This strategic partnership enables the shipyards to implement industry best practices and advanced systems, ensuring unparalleled technical competence at every stage of every project.

PIM operates across the entire shipbuilding and ship repair sector, focusing primarily on the following activities:

  • Ship & yacht construction and outfitting

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Thanks to its extensive quay space and robust infrastructure, Piombino Industrie Marittime has rapidly established itself as a premier hub for integrated maritime services. The shipyard encompasses all core business lines of its shareholders, with a strategic focus on ship recycling, new building, maintenance, repairs, and refitting.

This operational versatility is underpinned by the Integrated Environmental Authorisation (AIA) granted by the Tuscany Region (Decree No. 4433 of 27.03.2019 and Decree No. 13035 of 20.08.2020, authorising the commencement of activities).

Ships and yachts constructions & outfitting

In both New Building and Refit & Repair operations, Piombino Industrie Marittime – working in close synergy with Genova Industrie Navali – provides diversified services. By complementing other GIN Group companies traditionally based in Genoa and Marseille, PIM effectively expands the Group’s overall capacity.

In the New Building sector, GIN Group companies leverage over 90 years of expertise to specialize in luxury cruise ships and mega-yachts, with the capacity to construct vessels exceeding 200 meters in length.

Our approach is entirely bespoke: every stage of the design, engineering, and construction process is dedicated to achieving the highest quality and most meticulous level of detail.

From mid-range vessels to ‘giants of the sea,’ the Group possesses the infrastructure, personnel, and technical expertise to handle any repair or structural transformation.

  • Domestic vessels: ships that operate exclusively within the territorial waters or jurisdiction of their flag state throughout their service life.

Fabrication of offshore modules and skids

PIM offers comprehensive services for onshore and offshore industrial plants, from initial concepts to construction, prefabrication, and advanced logistics, with a focus on decarbonisation and ‘green’ resource management.

The shipyard has the competences to manage the fabrication and assembly of complex modules and skids for the energy, oil & gas, and offshore sectors.

By integrating high-precision welding, structural assembly, and advanced systems integration, PIM serves as a strategic partner for large-scale industrial projects that require the same level of quality and logistical expertise as our world-class ship construction.

In addition to traditional maritime operations, Piombino Industrie Marittime leverages its extensive industrial capacity to provide specialist engineering and industrial services.
